Maintaining Your Spiritual "Interest"

I needed a question, or something to write about in the journal and this was suggested: How does a person stay in Spirit or not backtrack when they are opening up? That is a great question. So, let’s dig in. There is no doubt that as you begin there is a certain excitement and enthusiasm. But, nothing sustains itself without further energy input. Now, I’m not sure how this works for everyone else, but for me I suspect it is one of two things: my guides and/or my higher self, are supplying me with the needed energy to keep my focus moving forward, OR it is the excellent coffee I’m drinking! No kidding, I seem to want a second cup of coffee whenever I start working in my journal, and then I am basically buzzing. So, caffeine, or something higher? Don’t know. But I’m smiling at such a dumb question, now I’m actually laughing because it doesn’t matter at all. Energy is available whenever we want or need it, we just have to picture it, ask for it, and there it is.

Personally, keeping my interest in the Spiritual side of life since the beginning of this year has been a non-issue, in fact, I have to rein myself in because there is so much to do and think about and experience. I feel like my “real self” has been released and allowed to breathe, in public! Yikes! Or, again, it could be the coffee. This is good coffee. Come on over and have a cup! OK, back to the topic: if you feel a strong push from your soul to pursue the esoteric “arts” or way of life it may sustain itself, just rolls on. But I think the question is more along the lines of, “What if you are not so strongly drawn
in, at least on the surface, and find yourself wandering away from this way of thinking?” Good question. The best answer I have is to not worry about it. If you have to force yourself to keep a certain way of thinking it may not be meant for you.

Or you don’t need it. It may be just below your conscious level, but humming along just fine. I know someone who is very spiritual, full of love for everyone, who helps everyone she knows. She draws people to her for her kindness, caring attitude, and soothing calmness. She probably does not need to worry about her Spirituality. She lives it, doesn’t have to think about it all the time, in fact, she doesn’t actually need to think about it at all, it is her life. She is worried that she might be losing interest, but there is nothing to worry about. She has been reading books and watching videos and discussing these topics but her surface interest may be waning just a bit and she is concerned. No need to be. That part is fulfilled, now she must just relax and live it, and she is doing that.

But does this work for everyone? Yes. You cannot force yourself to live in spirit or to read the books or go to meetings, etc. Well, you can force yourself, but to what end? You’ll gain little or nothing. Your heart and soul will tell you what to do if you learn to listen. So follow the best guide you have, yourself. Learn to tune in and the answers will be there. Don’t worry, don’t stress, don’t think you have to do anything...besides, I have enough enthusiasm for all of you!
